Alyssa

When Alyssa came to me, she was an American bride stepping into the world of Indian wedding traditions for the very first time, and she was doing it with grace, curiosity, and more than a few nerves. Her mother-in-law had lovingly chosen the outfits for each event, and together Alyssa and I found ways to personalize each one so that her own spirit came through in every look. We spent hours on video calls, talking through jewelry choices, accessory pairings, and the details that would make each outfit feel like hers.

One of my favorite parts of working with Alyssa was designing her custom bridal veil. We coordinated the entire process remotely, working with a family friend who was traveling to India to have it made. Seeing it come together from thousands of miles away, and then watching it placed on her head on her wedding morning, was something I will never forget. The tears in her eyes when she saw her final look said everything. She had trusted me completely, and I had done everything in my power to honor that trust.
