I have always loved beautiful fabrics and the artistry of Indian garments. But it wasn’t until my own wedding in England that something deeper came alive in me. Wearing sarees daily connected me to my heritage in a way that felt grounding and personal. I began to see draping not simply as styling, but as a powerful form of expression.
When I returned home, I carried that understanding with me.

Where It Began
About ten years ago, I was asked to assist with dressing a bride and her wedding party. I expected to help with pleats and pins. What I discovered was something more.
Wedding mornings can become overwhelming. Emotions run high. Timelines shift. Expectations build. I watched how easily chaos can enter the dressing space — and how deeply it affects the bride.
That day, I chose to bring calm instead.
Months later, one of the bridesmaids from that wedding called me. She was planning her own wedding and said something that stayed with me:
“I want you. I loved your positive energy.”
That was the beginning.
Since then, I have draped more than 20 brides and their families for Indian and fusion weddings — entirely through word-of-mouth referrals. What began as helping friends slowly became a trusted, specialized bridal draping service.

A Purposeful Transition
After more than 20 years working in office administration, I was laid off during a company restructuring. At nearly 60 years old, I found myself at a crossroads.
What could have felt discouraging instead became clarity.
For almost a decade, Drapescape had quietly been growing as a side endeavor. The referrals. The gratitude from brides. The requests I had to turn down while working full time. They were signs pointing me toward what I was meant to build.
